Classes

Music and Movement Program Just for Toddlers!

The Museum is proud to offer Music Together classes to the greater New Orleans community. Music Together is an internationally-recognized, early-childhood music program for infants through age five and the adults who love them. The program introduces children to the pleasure of making their own music instead of passively receiving it from CDs or TV.

Miss Lala's Music Together classes bring families together not only by providing an environment at the Museum, but by encouraging family participation in spontaneous musical activity at home, too. The LCM encourages you and your little ones to discover the pleasure and educational value of informal music experiences.

Classes are held in The Times-Picayune Theatre and include sharing songs, instrument play, rhythm chants and movement activities in a relaxed, playful, non-performance oriented setting.  You’ll enrich your child’s music environment regardless of your own musical abilities. Children participate at their own level in family-style classes of mixed ages. These sessions are very popular so sign up today to reserve your spots. Session fees include an illustrated songbook and 2 CDs (new each session) and a parenting guide to music.
