Step Into School & Healthy Lifestyles

Saturday, July 31st

11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Start off the new school year right! Enjoy an afternoon of information on how to make healthy choices this year and how to keep yourself safe. Various organizations from around the city will provide literature and resources to parents and kids. Plus, join us in the Architecture Exhibit to learn about the first school built in New Orleans and its French Colonial Style.

Program highlights include:

GNO Immunization Network is providing immunization information and schedules for their immunization bus.
Healthy Start is offering information about healthy eating.
LSU AgCenter will be talking about smart bodies and offering an interactive activity.
Bippo's Place For Smiles will bring Bippo the Hippo and give several presentations in our Times Picayune Theatre about visiting the dentist.
Crimestoppers is providing Child I.D. kits, balloons, temporary tattoos and school supplies. There will also be a presentation in the Times Picayune Theatre.
New Orleans Police Department is offering information on school safety.
American Red Cross is offering emergency information.
The Museum will be handing out free lunch bags while supplies last.

Learn about all the different forms of energy we use and how to conserve them to preserve the Earth. Explore the different forms of both renewable and non-renewable energy we use on this fact-filled day.

Winnie The Pooh's 89th Birthday Celebration

Sunday, August 22nd

12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Celebrate Winnie the Pooh's 89th Birthday at the Museum! Enjoy delicious birthday cake and ice cream. Participate in a special birthday activity, be a part of an exclusive story time with Winnie the Pooh, as well as a meet and greet with photo opportunities.

Cost is $20 per family up to four people. Pre-registration is highly recommended as space is limited.
