Camp LCM When school is out for summer vacation, Camp LCM is in session! The Louisiana Children's Museum offers a variety of camps that provide structured, yet fun, learning adventures.

June 2-6 Kitchen Chemistry Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT Spend a week as a mad scientist. Learn about chemical reactions and make a few of your own using household ingredients. Make slime, oobleck, ice cream, invisible ink, and learn about the scientific principles behind your creations! June 2-6 Art Camp: Sights of the City, Ages 6 to 9 SOLD OUT Campers will explore the various ways artists use the city in which they live as the subject or theme in their artwork. Campers will explore painting, collage, photography and other media to create a portfolio of work. June 9-13 Abracadabra Magic Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT Learn to make a coin disappear, how to shuffle the deck, and other tricks to amaze friends and family! Campers will explore optical and other illusions and learn how they work. Magic inspired art pieces will also be created throughout the week. June 16-20 Dinosaurs Rock!, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT Take place in this prehistoric experience! Campers will unearth dinosaur fossils like real paleontologists, learn what makes a dinosaur a dinosaur and not a mammal, figure out how much dinosaurs weighed and much more! June 23-27 Take a Bow Theatre Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT Take center stage! Learn about character development, improvisation, and other acting techniques. Create a variety of puppets and learn the basic techniques of puppetry. Music and movement will inspire a variety of art work throughout the week. June 23-June 27 Art Camp: Small, Tiny, Miniature Camp, Ages 6 to 9 SOLD OUT Produce small paintings, dioramas, miniature books, and many other tiny works of art. Create pieces in a variety of media, including clay, paint, paper, pen, and pencil.
June 30-July 3 Tastes of Louisiana Cooking Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT Food is an important part of Louisiana's unique culture that you will learn more about in Tastes of Louisiana Cooking Camp! Make and taste Louisiana cuisine, learn about foods that come from our region, discover healthy eating habits, make a recipe book, and create other fun food themed crafts! July 7-11 Circus Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT Feel the magic of the circus during this weeklong camp. Campers will be introduced to a wide spectrum of circus skills including clowning, juggling, stilts, balance and more! July 14-18 Making Music Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT This is your chance to become the musician you've always dreamed of. Make your own musical instruments, jam with local musicians, and learn bits of music theory during this week of camp! July 14-18 Art Camp: Mixed Up and Messy, Ages 6 to 9 SOLD OUT Campers will explore the limitless possibilities of creating mixed media works of art using found objects and traditional art materials. July 21-25 Tastes from Around the World Cooking Camp, Ages 5 to 8 This camp allows children to travel the world through their taste buds. Campers will cook and experiment with different spices and culinary styles, make a recipe book, and other fun food related projects. July 28-August 1 Modern Masters Art Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT Explore the world of Modern Masters as you create paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures. Paint in the cubist style, learn how to sculpt with tape, draw with scissors and more! July 28-August 1 Art Camp: Picasso to Pop Art, Ages 6 to 9 SOLD OUT Campers will learn about famous modern artists. Paint like Picasso and practice printmaking like Andy Warhol. Experiment with paintings like Pollack and create your own sculpture. Make fun Matisse-inspired collages. The projects are designed to help campers understand the concepts behind modern art as they create their own. August 4-August 8 FETCH! Science Camp, Ages 5 to 8 SOLD OUT FETCH! is a PBS show featuring real scientific challenges. Campers will learn problem solving and teamwork skills through participating in real world science experiences.
