Great Friend To Kids Award Luncheon Thursday, October 22, 2009 The Museum is abuzz with excitement as we get closer to honoring Hornets owners George and Denise Shinn as “Great Friends to Kids.” Please join us at the Sheraton New Orleans at 11:30 a.m. for the Museum’s inaugural Great Friends to Kids Award Luncheon. The Shinn’s will receive a Great Friend to Kids Corporate Responsibility Award for their extraordinary leadership in the rebuilding of New Orleans and their BEE-lief in the importance of family involvement in education. 2010 Date TBD Grab your passport and travel around the world in a single day at the annual Children's World's Fair. Children ages 4-14 will discover what is unique and universal to cultures across the globe as they explore the music, literature, arts and crafts, inventions, games, native attire and food from 10-14 featured countries. Plus, travel to the center of the LCM Earth Balloon for an up-close and inside look at geography and our world and catch special performances with an international flair throughout the day on Center Stage. Since 1994, the Children's World's Fair has introduced New Orleans area children to more than 120 countries and their distinct cultures. PAST EVENTS... Thursday, June 25, 2009 The Louisiana Children’s Museum and 360 of our closest friends went “Over the Top” with Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey on Thursday, June 25 for a Circus Magic Night to remember. The exclusive patron party on Opening Night of the circus raised more than $3,600 for LCM’s programs and educational exhibits. LCM thanks all of the supporters who helped make the evening a fun, successful and magical evening.
