H1N1 Flu Precautions
As the flu season nears, we are taking steps to keep our spaces clean and our visitors safe:
- Hand Sanitizers: Located on each floor in exhibit areas.
- Museum Sanitizing: We’re taking extra measures to ensure that commonly touched surfaces are disinfected throughout the day.
Please help by taking your own precautions:
- Encourage good hygiene at home by teaching children the importance of washing hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. This is a great opportunity to work on letters, too, since the alphabet song is just that long!
- Teach your children not to share personal items like drinks, food or utensils, and to cover their coughs and sneezes appropriately.
- Be familiar with the symptoms of both the H1N1 flu and seasonal flu. Both come on suddenly. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue. H1N1 symptoms also may include diarrhea and vomiting. Many people recover with little or no medical intervention, but contact your doctor with questions and concerns or to determine the appropriate course of action.
