Field Trips At LCM

At the Louisiana Children’s Museum, learning is FUN! Classroom lessons come to life as children explore and experience 30,000 square-feet of exhibits, art activities, educational programs, and hands-on fun unique to the Museum. To schedule a group visit, download your choice field trip inquiry form and either fax to 504-529-3666 or email to groups@lcm.org.

Family memberships or coupons may not be used for field trips, as our group rates are already discounted.

  • Self-Guided Field Trip

    The traditional Self-Guided Field Trip is ideal for all ages and encourages children to explore the Museum at their own pace. Group rates are extended to organized groups (schools, churches, camps, homeschool groups, etc.) of 15 or more individuals who have scheduled a visit in advance.

    Self-Guided Field Trips are available Tuesday – Friday from 9:30AM – 4:30PM.

  • GROUP RATE: $5.00 per person (plus 3% Louisiana sales tax)

Tricentennial Pathways

Happy Birthday, NOLA: 300 Years and Counting

Happy Birthday NOLA is a two hour Tricentennial-themed field trip that interacts with LCM exhibits to teach students about New Orleans food, architecture,and our port – which are all influenced by the mighty Mississippi River! Explore goods and natural resources, shop for gumbo ingredients and learn their sources, discover homes unique to our city and build structures of your own. Flow with the River through three engaging, standards-aligned  experiences for grades PreK – 2nd that make New Orleans history and culture come alive for our youngest community members.

GROUP RATE: $5.00 per person (plus 3% Louisiana Sales Tax)

Tricentennial Pathways are available during the school year on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.

    • Lunch Space For Groups

      Upon availability, LCM offers a private lunch space for groups at the end of a scheduled field trip for an additional cost of $1.00 per person. The lunch space must be booked in advance and is not available during the months of June through August.

      The snack area on the first floor of the Museum is for the use of general admission guests and is not offered to groups.
