King Fest

King Fest is a 5-day celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Join us to honor his legacy through reflective journaling, special guest story times, collaborative art projects, labyrinth peace walks, and more. Activities are free with museum admission.

Reflection Journals (Jan. 16 - Jan. 20)
Children are invited to create reflection
journals providing an opportunity for self
reflection and dialogue around our museum
galleries and thought topics related
to the vision and work of Dr. Martin
Luther King.

Guest Readers (Jan. 18 & Jan. 19)
LCM welcomes guest readers throughout
the day in our Talk + Play Center.
Readers will share the book, “Martin’s
Big Words” and facilitate discussion
around empathy, community and equality.

Peace Yoga & Labyrinth Walk (Jan. 18 &
Jan. 19, 1pm)
Practice mindfulness with your child.
Engage in self reflection and relaxation
with Peace Yoga and a guided Labyrinth
Walk honoring the legacy and teachings
of Dr. King.

Monday, January 20 (MLK Day)
Join us for Haitian Music performers and
peace parades taking place throughout
the day.
